The merger of CRWC and CWC was approved today

The cabinet meeting today approved the merger of CRWC and CWC. The decision to extend the free food distribution scheme till November has also been approved. Which will benefit 800 million people. Let me tell you that in view of the second wave of Corona virus, ration card holders will get 5 kg of free foodgrains till Diwali under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana by the Central Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The cabinet meeting today approved the merger of CRWC and CWC. Which will also help a lot in reducing taxes. The government will benefit by about Rs 5 crore annually.

The government will benefit by about Rs 5 crore annually

Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, ration card holders will get 5 kg of free food till Diwali. Last year, the central government spent over Rs 90,000 crore on the scheme. If the last three months' expenditure is added to this, the figure would be around Rs 1.5 lakh crore. The scheme was launched just days after the first lockdown last year. As a result, about 81 crore people in the country were given free foodgrains in April, May and June.

Paying only 5 kg of grain will get 10 kg of grain

5 kg of free foodgrains till Diwali, one member will get 10 kg of foodgrains till Diwali. Under this scheme, out of 10 kg of grain, only 5 kg of grain will have to be paid and 5 kg of grain will be provided free of cost.

That is, 20 kg of foodgrains will be given free of cost on ration cards with the names of four members. This means that out of 40 kg of grain, only 20 kg of grain will have to be paid and 20 kg of grain will be available for free.
